By Faith We Soar, By Dreams We Fly — Living Out “Strive to Study, Dare to Dream”
As the new academic year begins, we embrace the theme “Strive to Study, Dare to Dream.” It is both a call to pursue knowledge and a reminder to nurture vision, reflecting how faith and life intertwine. As a school grounded in Christian education, we believe that studying and dreaming are not only the twin pillars of learning, but also the mission and grace entrusted to us by God.
To strive to study is to live out faith with wholehearted devotion. Scripture teaches, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30). This wholehearted love is the spiritual foundation of diligent study. In classrooms, laboratories, and libraries, we pursue truth with curiosity and perseverance, believing that all truth comes from God and that knowledge is His gift to help us care for His creation. The journey of learning shapes our character and strengthens our faith—it requires patience, focus, and endurance. As the Bible says: “Make every effort… add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge” (2 Peter 1:5–7). Through our study, we respond faithfully to God's call and glorify His name in our pursuit of truth.
To dare to dream is to trust God's promises with courage and hope. Dreaming is not merely imagining the future; it is believing in His divine plan. As written in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Our dreams should be rooted in this assurance, for faith gives us wings to transcend life's limits and challenges. True courage springs from trust in God's power. Like David facing Goliath or Peter walking on water, we are often called beyond comfort and certainty, urged to act upon divine guidance. So, I encourage every student to dream boldly—not in self-reliance, but through the power of “Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).
In this age of artificial intelligence, the harmony of study and dream can form a new path of faith. Our pursuit of knowledge should serve others and care for creation, while our dreams should reveal God's beauty and greatness. On this journey, we are both seekers of truth and builders of the future—anchored by diligence, lifted by vision, and unified in faith.
As we step into this new academic year, let us walk by faith, take flight with dreams, and together embark on a journey of grace—striving in study and daring in dream.
